Brayton was raised in the small village of Northport, Leelanau County, Michigan. He still calls Leelanau County home today. Growing up in a tight-knit community helped him understand the importance of putting others first and making meaningful and impactful lifelong connections. Brayton started his lending career with a local community bank in 2020 and moved to Cardinal Financial, a national mortgage lender, in 2022. Prior to mortgage loan origination, he spent the previous seven years in the insurance industry. Brayton graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Finance and Marketing.
Volunteering, community engagement, and making a positive impact on his local community is very important to Brayton. He is currently the President of the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, President of the Suttons Bay Chapter of BNI, as well as, Vice-Chairperson of the Leelanau Peninsula Economic Foundation. He is an affiliate member of Aspire North Realtors®, a Strategic Partner of Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR), member of Traverse Connect, and the Traverse City Young Professionals. He sits on the boards of the Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce and Northport-Omena Chamber of Commerce.
When he’s not working or volunteering, Brayton enjoys spending time with his family and friends, working on cars, house projects, and enjoying beautiful Northern Michigan.
